Throughout the year, Whole Foods Market Foundation provides funding to help our partners improve nutrition and create opportunities for financial stability. Meet the organizations we’re supporting through our core programs and special projects.

  • May 2025 Funding | $450,000

    We’re pleased to announce another month of funding, totaling $450,000 and touching the lives of 5,140 people! From Texas to Nigeria, both PEAS and ColdHubs are making healthy food access more accessible. Read more about how each organization is using their funding to better the lives of Texans and Nigerians.

    See how PEAS is bringing garden education to thousands of Texas students, while ColdHubs is helping smallholder farmers keep their produce from spoiling in rural markets across Nigeria.

  • 2025 Bee Grants | $375,000

    For the last decade, we have worked alongside The Bee Cause Project to award over 1,110 educational beehives, investing over $2.1 million in pollinator education for 1.4 million students. Our friends at The Bee Cause Project ensure that grantees have all the resources they need to create a flourishing hive by providing consultations, resources and curriculum for schools.

    This year, the Foundation invested $375,000 to provide 150 schools and non-profits with their beehives! 

  • April 2025 Funding | $798,528

    We’re excited to approve just under $800,000 in funding to three transformative organizations working to support smallholder farmers in Bolivia, Liberia, and Tanzania.

    Through our partnerships with Chomateo, J-Palm Liberia, and Kokoa Kamili Limited, we are supporting initiatives that strengthen local economies by equipping smallholder farmers with the resources they need to succeed.

  • 2025 Newark Fresh, Healthy Food Access Grants | $197,199

    In the nine years since we started the Newark Fresh, Healthy Food Access Grant, we’ve awarded over $1.4 million to community-led organizations that are spearheading an increase to food accessibility across all five wards of Newark.

    For the final grant year, we're providing, $197,199 across ten Newark-based organizations that are committed to broadening long-term access to fresh, healthy food and nutrition education.

  • February 2025 Funding | $897,000

    Announcing $897,000 in funding for three transformative projects this month, each designed to create lasting impact in communities worldwide impacting 35,535 people.

    From supporting microentrepreneurs in Ecuador to empowering smallholder farmers in Nigeria, and improving children's access to healthy, sustainable food in England, these carefully selected programs represent our dedication to fostering sustainable economic growth and resilience where it's needed most.

  • Whole Planet High Impact Program 2024 | $230,000

    In partnership with the Kasperick Foundation, we’re excited to announce $230,000 in funding across five Whole Planet projects that promote and broaden access to innovative savings mechanisms through our High Impact Program.

    Since 2013, Whole Planet has authorized $1.75M through the High Impact Program, with the goal of improving their ability to meet their clients’ needs and provide new, more or better products and services.
