2025Liberia$448,528Financial Inclusion

J-Palm Liberia, a for-profit social enterprise, is seeking a $448,528 three-year, 0% interest loan from WFMF to expand their palm kernel purchasing operations and launch a new briquette production line. The majority of funds ($374,528) will serve as working capital to purchase palm kernels from wild harvesters, while $74,000 will support the setup of a new briquette factory that transforms discarded palm kernel shells into fuel-efficient cooking briquettes. The project aims to increase J-Palm’s sourcing network from 1,000 to 5,000 harvesters over three years while expanding their mini mill network from 215 to 643 mills, ultimately providing higher yields and additional income streams for rural palm collectors in Liberia.
