Sandy leads the Foundation’s dynamic Philanthropy Team focused on fundraising to support programmatic work, creating engagement opportunities for stakeholders, and increasing education and awareness of Whole Foods Market Foundation’s mission.

A graduate of Santa Clara University, Sandy holds a Bachelors in Sociology with an emphasis in Business and Human Services and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Prior to joining Whole Foods Market in 2008, Sandy worked as the Project Manager for the Youth, Communities, and Social Justice Project. Sandy has 19 years of retail grocery experience, 7 of which she worked as Marketing and Community Outreach Team Leader for Whole Foods Market. In 2010, she traveled as a Whole Foods Market Team Member Volunteer to Peru to observe firsthand the power of microcredit in action, learn about sourcing connections, and engage in volunteer activities. This would inspire her to join the Whole Planet Team in 2015 as the Senior Marketing and Outreach Program Manager leading fundraising and marketing programs. In 2024, she assumed the role of Senior Development Manager for Whole Foods Market Foundation, responsible for the creation and growth of Corporate Partnerships. Sandy has earned the CFRE designation, a globally recognized accredited certification for fundraising professionals demonstrating expertise and commitment to ethical and best-practice fundraising.

Now, as the Director of Philanthropy, Sandy continues to pursue her passion for collaborations that support local and global communities with essential resources to thrive.
